Southeastern Preschool Educational Center has been in the business of caring for children since 1981.  We offer quality childcare at two locations in Wilmington, NC, four locations in Jacksonville, NC, one in Leland, NC, and one in Burgaw, NC.  In 1995, new ground was broken when the School-Age Program and Educational Campus was opened in Wilmington.  These centers offer exclusive school age care.

Our centers are open from 6:30 a.m. (6:15 a.m. Burgaw and Jacksonville) to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  We accept children six weeks through twelve years.  Our full time program has been designed to fulfill the needs of working parents and your child may attend anytime during business hours.

SPEC provides a warm, safe environment for your infant and toddler as they grow and develop.  We provide infant formula and baby food at no additional cost.  Breastfeeding mothers are welcome to nurse in a quiet, comfortable setting at anytime.

Our preschool program is designed to meet the developmental needs of children as they learn to explore their world.  The thematic curriculum is designed to help children learn through activities and play.  Our certified teachers will stimulate your child’s sense of curiosity as they learn through teacher directed and individual activities and play.  Our program follows the enhanced program standards as set forth by the North Carolina Division of Child Development regarding staff child ratios.

Our school age program is for children who attend elementary school; therefore, we offer before and after school care, teacher workdays and holidays, and a full time summer camp.  We know that boredom is a big complaint for older children so SPEC has action packed classrooms with computers, age appropriate video games, foosball, and other activities to educate and entertain your child.  The summer camp is filled with field trips and fun events.  Just some of the fieldtrips include skating, swimming, putt-putt, museums, ice cream and pizza parties, parks and community projects.  There are no extra or hidden fees.  All meals and fieldtrips are included in the cost of tuition.
