SPEC is a proud sponsor at Winter Park Optimist and has been for over 15 years. We have sponsored a T-ball team for over 15 years and in 2007 we are expanding our sponsorship to include a machine pitch team as well.  When you go to sign-ups at the ball park you can request that your child play on the SPEC team.  Mr. Ron (Owner) has been known to show up and buy hot dogs for everyone!

SPEC also was a major sponsor for the 2006 Wilmington Bears 12U AAU baseball team.  This was a new team formed and coached by former UNCW player Lee McLean (Coach Mac).  His assistant coach was a 2006 UNCW pitcher, Thomas Benton (Coach Benton).  The team practiced hard, learned a lot and proved that they are champions.  They won tournaments such as the The Eastern Fall State Tournament in Kinston, The Buck Hardee Invitational in Wilmington, NC and the East Coast Clash of Champions in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Wilmington Bears will continue to play again in the fall in the 13U age group.
